Double headed stakes have a formed head at both ends of the shaft. The two heads serve distinct purposes. The lower head seats against the ground as the stake is driven in; the upper head sits above ground and provides a positive engagement point for a stake puller on extraction — meaning the stake can be removed cleanly even when driven fully to depth and only the head is showing. The upper head also provides a direct attachment point for guy ropes without a separate shackle.
Available in two shaft profiles:
- Smooth shaft — uniform cross-section for clean driving and extraction in most ground conditions
- Rebar shaft — deformed profile provides additional mechanical grip in softer, clay-heavy, or sandy ground where pull-out resistance from shaft friction is important
- High alloy steel — consistent with the Tiger Stakes material standard
- Heat-drawn point — the same Hogan manufacturing process that keeps Tiger Stakes driving true

Where Double Headed Stakes Are Used
Double headed stakes suit applications where a defined upper attachment point is needed without the additional hardware of a shackle on a standard single-headed stake. The upper head provides a clean, consistent attachment position for guy ropes and straps — useful in busy hire operations where rigging speed matters, and where clean extraction at the end of every job is a practical consideration rather than an afterthought.
The rebar shaft variant is specifically for ground conditions where smooth-shaft stakes lose pull-out resistance — including soft, saturated, or sandy ground where shaft friction from the deformed rebar profile contributes meaningfully to overall holding capacity.
